Set in the late 80’s and early 90’s, it’s a story familiar to many Latinx people in the U.S. – the struggle to assimilate into American society while holding onto your roots and heritage.
But this tale is dressed up in the thrills and scares of genre. It has the escalating dread of Rosemary's Baby, the expressive visual of Suspiria, and the social terror of Get Out.
The Halloween Club is something new: a feature-length horror thriller through a Latinx lens.
